Were we silent and mute as stones, our very passivity would be an act. Jean-Pauld Sartre
The installation with a sling was exhibited for the first time in the context of the mineral collection at Joanneum – the Museum of Natural History in Graz. It refers to numerous protests across the world and their various manifestations – from throwing stones to voluble silence. At the Trip exhibition, the installation plays the role of a magical artifact, a kind of cornerstone. The exhibition came into being at a difficult moment for us as an institution, in the face of many changes that were beyond the control of our team. These circumstances, however, allowed us to draw on what would inspire us and to challenge the situation, facing our passivity and silence.
